HONDURAS

Hola everyone! We are here safe and sound. We had no problems with our flights, baggage, customs or immigration. Our container full of stuff that was shipped in April actually arrived today (in was in Honduras last Friday, but released today) and they unloaded it this evening. They said that we were the first missionary family to have their things when they arrived (we did get here a few hours before our stuff).

The most hectic part of our trip was getting all of our bags together in Tegucigalpa. We were all so hot and frazzled by the time we got to the customs agent he just took one look at us (after witnessing my 3 year old have a fit over carrying her own back pack... I also refused to carry it and threatened to leave it right where it lay) and ushered us us through without looking or asking about one bag, that was awesome!

We are so appreciative of all of your prayers. We are amazed at what has taken place over the last 18 months and we are thrilled to be here. It is still very scary and we have a lot of adjusting to do, but we are comforted by knowing that we are here through following God's leading in our lives.

We are staying tonight and tomorrow night at the missions house and we will probably move into our own house on Friday, it still needs a few repairs and some cleaning.

Please continue to pray for us, over the next few weeks we have to set up utilities, get a stove, buy a car (please pray for the best deal possible), start language school, train our children not to drink the water or flush the toilet paper and so many other things. By the way there is a medical brigade coming in this Saturday, we may not be too involved in that, but everyone else here will.

We love you all and thank again for all of your support. We give all the praise and glory to our God who does amazing things.

Dios te bendiga,

The Sims Family

I have been praying for you and as I was cleaning up some stuff in my den tonight found your newsletter!! So I got on the computer to see if you had gotten to Honduras and see that you have arrived safe and sound!! I know God will bless you and your family as you serve Him there!! Now that I know how to use this site I will check it often. Give my love to all and I will definitely keep you in my prayers. You are a special family and were a real blessing to me while at camp. Hello to everyone,

It’s Miss Dee who’s praising the Lord you arrived safely. I have thought about your whole family every day since camp. Actually, I have your prayer card taped to the wall beside my desk. I give God the thanks ahead of time for how he will work through everyone in your family there in Honduras. Dana, thank you so much for the kind note you sent and also for the story of “Trip to Holland”. I recall the early morning Sunday chat we had and what stands out most is you saying “God don’t make mistakes”. He sure didn’t when he paired me with your family for a weekend. You were a blessing I needed. Please keep us updated on how you are doing. Tell Maddie I hope she has a special day on the 18th. I love you all and your are special in HIS eyes.
Dee Smitherman
VJGC Crew Chief
